How to Use The Arsenal Products

The concept of this line is that of a palette.  Each product can stand alone-- we made sure of that-- but we hope you will consider spending the few minutes it takes every morning and night to care for your skin.  That way, the actives, oils and botanicals you need will be layered and working together. There is a serum cheat sheet below to help you learn what you need for your skin to succeed.

Having a routine causes you to stop for a few minutes and look at yourself-- maybe ask yourself how you are doing.  The result will be that your skin will reflect the light.  You will be hydrated and fresh, and you won't look unpleasant or in need of oiling.

There's nothing wrong with aging, but there is something a bit off when one takes better care of a saddle than one's own skin.

No matter what we do to it-- cut it, hike it up, fill it, or paralyze it... or ignore it-- we are only given one skin.  It's the only one we have.  Just try and take care of it with as much gusto as you would put into grooming a beloved pet.

Remember to protect your skin from the sun, and use a gentle, clean cleanser, like the grapefruit cleanser from Brandless, for $3.  Seriously.

1. Cleanse

2. Treatment Toner (Acqua serum, really.) - Spray on face and pat, pat, pat... let dry for a minute.  This is pure gold. Do not spray on a cotton ball.  That's a felony.  Spray directly on face or on your hand. It's got all the actives you could possibly want in one place.  Peptides, proteins, sugars, ferments, lactic acid....

3. Eye Cream - Below the brow.  Under the eye.  Not too close to your actual eye.  The warmth of your skin will travel the cream.

Wake-Up Call - If you've had a hard night, life or are just puffy, you can also use this peptide eye serum gel under the Eye Cream.

4. Everyday Serum - Pump and apply - let it sink in.  This step seals in the actives that came before and packs on some more.  Here are the botanicals and extracts you routinely need.  Think of it as skin food.  Feel free to use a bit on your arms, and back of your hands.  Ditto with the Treatment Toner.

Other Layering Serums As Needed:

The Hyaluronic Plumping Serum is a go-to for everyday you can remember to use it.  It's a gel, slides on, and only does good by attracting moisture to your skin.

Botanical Oil Serum needs to be by your sink and on your skin as needed, which is you are over 40, is a lot.  Experiment with it.

5. Day Cream.  This is where you get the anti-oxidants-- the Vitamin C, the deep moisture of desert fruits, the right oils for the day... and Palmitoyl Pentapeptide-3 (you need it and want it).  Use one little pump for your face, and one for your neck. Yes, you can use it on your neck.

Never.  I repeat, Never, go to sleep with your makeup on unless you seriously can't deal, and then fine.

1. Cleanse - same as above.

2. Treatment Toner - same as above.

3. Retinol Sleeping Serum - If you are new to retinol, you can mix this serum with a bit of the Everyday Serum.  You do not need to use daily, but you should get this softening concoction on your skin 2x3 times a week.

You should also use the Preservation Serum, which is loaded with worker bees. It's a true serum-- creamy, and active.  It's lovely.  If you can't do that, then do use the Everyday Serum at night and in the morning.

4. Night Cream - Apply to face and neck.  Welcome Buriti oil and the best anti-aging complex EVER. It's a very, very busy night cream and works hard while you're lying around listening to podcasts or sleeping.

Treatment Toner SPRAY SERUM (AKA FINE LINE TREATMENT. AKA ARGIRELINE AND FRIENDS): This has a tiny bit of glycolic in it, which gives the glow, and a peptide called Acetyl hexapeptide-3, which is produced synthetically from amino acids. It is a fragment of SNAP-25, a substrate of botulinum toxin (Botox). It has been found to be involved in facial skin muscle tightening, a mechanism responsible for wrinkle formation. It works through a unique mechanism, which makes the skin looks firm and tight, and can reduce the appearance of superficial facial lines and wrinkles with regular use. This spray also has many other botanical face feeders I want on my face every day.

Everyday Serum - This product was designed to be the one and only serum truly needed in the Arsenal Anti-Aging System. IF you are the person who needs to follow one routine and one routine only, then this is a well-rounded serum that includes nourishing botanicals and extracts and oils. Face food. Very important. The active in the serum is a skin care peptide classic called Matryxl. I use the Everyday Serum every morning if I am wearing makeup, because I know what it does, and it doesn't confuse my foundation. At night, I decide what my skin needs and take it from there.

Retinol Serum - Retinol (Vitamin A) combined with a synergistic blend of active ingredients, softens and heals the skin with the most efficient and effective moisturization system. Vitamin A has a molecular structure that's tiny enough to get into the lower layers of skin where it finds collagen and elastin and activates them. Vitamin A is proven to improve mottled pigmentation, fine lines, wrinkles, skin texture, skin tone and color, as well as your skins hydration levels. I use Retinol Serum about twice a week to soften my skin.

Active Botanical Oil Serum - I use this oil serum on my skin every night and would find it hard to live without. This particular oil serum has Tumeric oil in it, which helps with inflammation-- and Raspberry oil, which is a unique oil that helps your skin survive and utilize the sun. It’s rich in vitamins a + e. This serum also has carrot seed oil, which works on elasticity and rosehip oil, which you just have to have on your skin. I put a few drops of this serum on after toning at night before anything else. If I forget, I put it on last. I also put a pump on the back of my hands.

Plumping Serum - This is used for basic hydration. It’s like watering your face. Hyaluronic Acid makes up five percent of this formulation, which holds up to 1000 times its weight in water and draws moisture out of the environment and onto the surface of your skin. It’s non-comedogenic, penetrates deeply, and activates collagen production for a fresher, younger, firmer, brighter complexion. I use this serum a lot, and I keep one by my desk to use during those days when I’m not wearing makeup. I try to get this on my face as many times a week as I can remember. This is just a light layer-- sort of like wearing a camisole. Pat it on and let it dry. It works well under makeup. If I decide to use it in the a.m. on a makeup day, I put it on after the toner and before the Everyday Serum.

Peptide Serum - The benefits of peptides in this concentrated delivery system are the stimulation of collagen 1, collagen 111, and elastin fibroblasts. This stimulation supports the healing and repair response in the skin, increases skin thickness, refines the appearance of wrinkles, evens skin tone and texture, and restores elasticity and firmness to the skin. This peptide serum is a good staple to always have. Like mayonnaise. If I feel that I want an extra dose of peptides, which I feel I want about every 5 minutes, I’ll put a layer of this on. Again, this is like a camisole. It’s light, not greasy, and is another one I often take down to my desk. I layer this with the Plumping Serum for extra moisture-- kind of like a mini spa.

Preservation Serum - This is a big one I wouldn’t give up, and if I could only have one serum, this would be it. It has all my favorite peptides in abundant doses, plus massive amounts of botanicals, the best oils, working hydrosols, essential oils there for a purpose. Here’s what it does-- creates an immediate lift and a long term collagen boost and plays an important role in fortifying the structure of the scaffolding that is your face. I use this serum every night before my night cream and after the oil serum.

IN CONCLUSION: If I had to pick three, I’d go with…. I just tried to pick three and I can’t. Sorry.
